Step Up Scale Down is a 12-week wellness program, based on USDA guidelines and scientific research. Each week focuses on a different topic related to nutrition, healthy eating, exercise, and more to support you in your weight loss journey. Participants will receive a caloric needs calculation (completed at the first session), a weight loss tracker, a recipe book, and other materials designed to assist you in being successful.
This year, we are pleased to be able to offer you this program in a hybrid format (6 weeks online, and 6 weeks in-person), to allow you to access course materials on your own time while still maintaining accountability at the every other week in-person sessions. In-person sessions will include a CONFIDENTIAL weigh-in, a presentation of the week's course material, time for questions and answers, and a healthy recipe sample. Since the session is from noon to 12:45pm, you are encouraged to bring your lunch with you to the class, to enjoy while you participate.
An awards ceremony will be held on Monday April 22, following the last week. Prizes will be awarded for the most in-person sessions completed, most weight lost during the 12 weeks, and most check-ins at the gym!
